Hi everyone, Dr. Hannah here!
I am thrilled to be added to the Taproot team, and I thought you may like to know a little
more about what I do. I am a McTimoney chiropractor. This is a UK based technique and is a
little different to what most people think of when they hear the word ‘chiropractor’. It is
named after its creator John McTimoney who developed a precise, whole-body approach,
with adjustments performed by hand that are swift and light in pressure. At times it feels
more like a light flick, sometimes a quick but gentle push. As with all chiropractic treatment,
the aim is to restore correct nerve function, reduce muscle tension, relieve pain and
increase mobility by realigning the body to enable it to heal better and function more
efficiently.
Since I check the whole body from top to bottom every time, my appointment
times are a little longer than the other Doctors, but that just gives me more time to get to
know you! I have also trained in some additional soft tissue techniques, taping and laser
therapy, all of which go hand in hand with my treatment approach.
As someone who was under regular McTimoney care myself for the 15 years before my
move to the US this year, I love how relaxing and enjoyable it is to receive, with no twisted
positions and no cracking or popping. Great news for anyone who would like to try
chiropractic treatment but is nervous or hesitant about being adjusted!

This year the McTimoney college celebrated its 50 th anniversary and I was lucky
enough to attend the festivities before I moved abroad.
What I love most about the gentle nature of McTimoney is how it is suitable for any type of
patient, of any age, as well as those for whom other techniques may be considered ‘too
strong’. So, if you didn’t think chiropractic was for you, think again! Here at Taproot, there is
something for everyone.
